We had a forum crash a couple of months ago. Maybe we lost the threads going back a ways. There definietely were comments about it.
I'm wondering if the fit problems is different depending upon where you buy it from. Dennis Kirk had a part number specific for the Savage and the label on the box indicated that it was for the savage. Maybe some other companies stock a more universal pipe that requires the fix.
I had someone put the pipe on for me. He did not mention any problems, but he might have just went ahead and made the necessary cut to make it fix right.
I haven't heard any shakes or rattles or rolls. It all seems solid as can be.
